===== Overview ===== One way to change several tax rates at once would be to use the Control XML Import feature. It should be noted that depending on the number of Tax Rates that need to be changed, it may be faster and easier to change them in the Chart of Accounts screen inside Control. However, to demonstrate the Control XML import feature, we'll explain how to change them all at once. ===== Warning ===== Using this method to update information in Control could result in permanent loss of data. Extreme caution should be used and a backup of the database should be performed while using this method. Any loss of data or damage to the database due to improper use is not covered under the normal Support Agreement. The steps below only walk through how to import Tax Rate changes. You should familiarize yourself with the typical method for changing Tax Rates as well as be aware of the additional steps necessary after changing Tax Rates. These steps are discussed further in the following wiki: [[how-to_change_your_sales_tax_rates]] ===== Export Existing Account Information ===== **Important!** - Make a backup of the database first by clicking Backup Database in the File menu.
