Production Terminal utilizes web based technology to allow employees to update Orders using the Internet Explorer and have those changes visible immediately in Control.

Before starting this setup, please verify that the customer has the Production Terminal module. If they do not have the Production Terminal module they must purchase this first and you can direct the customer to sales@cyrious.com for pricing .

NOTE: These instructions are specifically for IIS V5.0 and V6.0

If IIS hasn't been installed yet on your server, click here for instructions on setting up IIS on your server machine.

1. Download the latest version of Production Terminal.

Note for Cyrious Techs: \\10.0.2.18\runimage$\Control [version]\ProductionTerminal

1. Click on Start | All Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer.

1. Navigate to one of the following folders depending on whether the operating system is x32 or x64.

1. C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework

1. C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64

1. Verify the following versions of .NET are installed on the system.

1. v2.0.50727

1. v3.0

1. v3.5

1. v4.030319

1. If any of the above versions are not installed they can be downloaded from the links below.

1. Download .NET v3.5 SP1 which includes the installation for v2.0, v3.0, and v3.5.

1. Download .NET v4.0

1. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the Cyrious folder.

1. Create a new folder called ProductionTerminal.

1. Place latest Production Terminal application files into the ProductionTerminal folder.

1. Verify the security key is authorized for Production Terminal, if on Control 4.6 or Earlier, or has a license key and on a stand alone sslip.

1. Create a folder named PTSSLIPShare in the Production terminal folder, open it, and copy the folder path in the address bar.

1. Open Control and navigate to Setup | System Setup | Production Terminal Options. Click edit and paste the path you copied into the Folder Path field.

i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Cyrious\Production Terminal\PTSSLIPShare

Note: The path above may be slightly different based on the name of the PT folder you created and install path of PT.

1. Click Save.

1. Close Control.

1. Close the SSLIP.

1. Click on Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.

1. Click on Web Service Extensions. Change the status of the following extensions to Allowed.
   • Active Server Pages
   • ASP.NET v4.0.30319
   • ASP.NET v2.0.50727

1. Expand Web Sites folder and right click on Default Web Site.

1. Click on New | Virtual Directory

1. Click Next on the pop up window.

1. Enter ProductionTerminal for the Alias and click Next.

1. Click Browse and navigate to the Cyrious folder and select the ProductionTerminal folder then click Next.

1. Select Read and Run Scripts and click Next then Finish.

1. Right Click on ProductionTerminal virtual directory now located under Default Web Site and click Properties.

1. Move to Documents tab and click Add…

1. Enter index.html then click OK.

1. Click the Move Up button until index.html is at the top then click Apply.

1. Move to HTTP Headers tab and click on MIME Types…

1. Click New… and enter:
   • Extension: .xap
   • MIME Type: application/silverlight-app

1. Click OK, OK again, then Apply. You should now be back at the ProductionTerminal Properties window.

1. Move to ASP.NET tab and set the ASP.NET Version to 4.0.30319.
   • Only perform this step if you encounter problems.
     • Select Edit Configuration…
     • Move to Authentication tab.
     • Select Forms as the Authentication Mode and click Apply.
     • Move to Application tab and select c# as Page Language default and click OK.

1. Click OK to exit the ProductionTerminal Properties window.

1. Go to Start | All Programs | Microsoft SQL Server

1. Locate and open the SQL Server Management Studio.

1. Log into the SQL instance used by the Control application.

1. Expand the Security folder and Right-Click Logins.

1. Choose “New Login”.

1. Enter WebView as the Login Name.

1. Change Authentication to SQL Server Authentication.

1. Please contact Technical Support for the password. Be sure to enter the password they provide in all lowercase. Remove the check mark from “Enforce password policy, enforce password expiration, and User must change password at next login” *. - Go to Server Roles section and enable all available check boxes. - Click OK to save. ==== Verifying The Production Terminal Installation ==== - Close Control and restart the SSLIP. ==== Creating Internet Shortcut For Production Terminal on Server ==== - Go to Start | Run | Accessories | Command Prompt - Type in ipconfig and press Enter. - Note down the internal IP Address. i.e. 192.168.1.100 - Right click on any empty area on the Desktop and choose New | Shortcut. - Type in http:/ProductionTerminal i.e. http://192.168.1.100/ProductionTerminal - Click OK and name the shortcut Production Terminal then click OK. - Double click the Internet Shortcut that is now on your desktop to access Production Terminal. - If prompted to install SilverLight on your machine, proceed, otherwise continue. - Login using your Control username and password. ==== Creating Internet Shortcut For Production Terminal on the Clients ==== - Right click on Desktop and select Shortcut. - Type in http:///ProductionTerminal i.e. http://192.168.1.100/ProductionTerminal - Click OK and name the shortcut Production Terminal then click OK. - Double click the Internet Shortcut that is now on your desktop to access Production Terminal. - If prompted to install SilverLight on your machine, proceed, otherwise continue. - Login using your Control username and password. - If Production Terminal website is not accessible on Client create a port exception for TCP Port 80 on Server Firewall (Control Panel | Windows Firewall | Exceptions | Add Port… Name: Production Terminal; Port 80 | OK) ===== See Also ===== include_pagepage_componentbacklinks
