• Ensure that the machine you are installing to is running Windows Vista or later. Windows XP and Server 2003 are not supported by the 5.1 SSLIP. More specifically the .NET 4.5 Framework that 5.1 needs is not supported by those earlier operating systems.
  • Ensure all users are closed out of Control and all work has been saved.
  • Have the companies License Key ready
  • Control 5.1 Update
  • CHAPI.Setup (This will only be needed until the CHAPI installer is corrected)
  1. Backup StoreData - Remember the location
  2. Restore the SQL backup of StoreData that was made and call it StoreData_51 (This is done early to prevent an unnecessary database from being attached later)
  3. Create a folder named Control 4.6 inside of the current Cyrious folder.
  4. Copy the current Control and SSLIP folders into the Control 4.6 folder that you created.
  5. Start and log into the SSLIP located in Cyrious\SSLIP folder (NOT the one in the Control 4.6 folder)
  6. Go into Database Administration
  7. Select the group labeled Control System Data » Edit » Change the Access Database Path to \\computername\Cyrious$\Control 5.1\ » Save
  8. Expand the group labeled Store Data » Select Control Data » Edit » Change the name of the Database from StoreData to StoreData_51 » Save
  9. Logout of the SSLIP
  10. Ensure that the SSLIP and C3S Service Host is not open by checking in the Task Manager.
  11. Run the Control 5.1 Update » Install to the default install folder
  12. Run the CHAPI.Setup file (This step will only be needed until the CHAPI installer is corrected)
  13. Open Services.msc » Stop the CHAPI.ServiceHost_12556 service
  14. Locate the CHAPI.ServiceHost.exe.config file (in the Control\CHAPI folder) » Open with Notepad » Locate on line #9
    1. Edit the line that says > Type the following: netsh http add urlacl url=http://+:8733/Cyrious/Utilities/C3S/Public/ user=Everyone » Close the Command Prompt
  15. Open Services.msc » Start the CHAPI.ServiceHost_12556 service
  16. Start the SSLIP located in Cyrious\Control\ (This is the 5.1 CHAPI SSLIP)
  17. Start Conrol located in Cyrious\Control\ (This is the 5.1 Control) - If everything works good, close Control, shut down the SSLIP, and stop the CHAPI service
  18. Detach the StoreData_51 in SQL
  19. Rename the Control folder to Control 5.1 » Move the Control and SSLIP folders located in Cyrious\Control 4.6 back into the Cyrious folder » Move the CHAPI folder from Cyrious\Control 5.1\ to Cyrious\Control\
  20. Attach the StoreData_51 in SQL as StoreData_51
  21. Open Services.msc » Start the CHAPI.ServiceHost_12556 service
  22. Create SSLIP_options.txt in Cyrious\SSLIP\ and Control_options.txt in Cyrious\Control\. (Make sure these have matching portoffset info as well as being different than the ports used by the 5.1 options files.)
  23. Start the SSLIP located in Cyrious\SSLIP\
  24. Start Control located in Cyrious\Control\ (This is the 4.6 version)
  25. Once 4.6 is up and running properly, start the SSLIP and Control files located in Cyrious\Control 5.1\
  26. Place a shortcut of both the SSLIP.exe files into the Startup folder. (During the update the shortcut that was there will have become broken most likely, and will need replacing.)
  27. Make sure the shortcut names are unique with 4.6 and 5.1 added to the end. (This will help identify which SSLIP/Control you are working with)
  28. Reboot and test (You shouldn't have to reboot, but if you are able to it will ensure that no errors will happen the next time the computer does a reboot)

Everything should be working correctly.
