When a credit card number is entered, the first 12 digits of the number are masked with asterisks and a small button with the icon of a magnifying glass will appear next to the field where the number was entered. Clicking this button un-masks the first 12 digits of the credit card number. Some customers will want this button disabled in order to keep users from retrieving customer credit card information.

1. Go into Setup > Security Setup.

2. Expand Company / Contact.

3. Expand Company

4. Near the bottom of the Company-related security rights, you should find “View Financial”. Disabling this right in any security template will disable the “Show full card number” button on the payments screen for users of that security template.

Disabling the “view financial” security right will also remove the right to see Financial tabs in Company and Contact records for the affected users. If non-private information from the financial tab is needed by the limited users, it should be copied and pasted into the company's Flags or Notes fields.
